The third book in my first trilogy,
"Cycles", is almost complete. At the moment the first one is once again out to a publisher, after a full editorial rewrite
and retitle. After I rewrote it, which I did after I saw how much better I write after completing the second book, I
decided that I would rather go to a publisher than self-publish again. The 'Print On Demand' price for the books is
a little pricey as far as I'm concerned.
So, while we're waiting for me to be
either snatched up or completely rejected, I'll be writing a few short stories that I've decided to distribute myself at no
cost to you. The length of the first one is about 19,000 words long, and since anything between 7,000 and 30,000 words
long is classified a novella and isn't really marketable, I thought that I would give you a small taste of my work.
Also, using them for advertising like this makes more sense than just having them take up space in boxes. I plan to
add a few more, as the spirit takes me. The links below lead to Chapter 1 of each, with a download link at the bottom of each
page leading to a *.zip file with an Adobe *.pdf file, as well as a self-contained *.pdf file of the full thing. That way
you can read it at your leisure, either online or off.
You might ask why I don't submit to
a few of the magazines for publication. Well, I'll tell you. It's mostly because they will pay you a whopping
sixty dollars or so for the piece, and then they claim ownership. I'm not going there. My wife, even though we aren't
Catholic, might be inclined to call a priest due to the spirit of rage that I would be possessed of after agreeing to such
foolishness. She also wouldn't be able to get that bar of soap in my mouth as retribution for nasty words. She
would have to claim possession or something such as that.
But in the meantime, for your enjoyment,
here is a short story while we all wait to see what happens.
