When the Patriot Act was created a serious amount of justifiable anger was generated.
People don’t like to have Government unknowns out there keeping tabs on them. It is a little difficult to discuss anything
with an entity that has the kind of power that our Government does, particularly when it is at your door and thinking you
are an enemy because of some moronic misunderstanding. Bureaucracies tend to do that and they quite often are made up of people
that really aren’t that sharp. The reason for that is that they have to draw on the general public in order to constitute
themselves. Quite a bit of the Patriot Act has to do with monitoring emails, watching webpages and using roving wiretaps in
order to track enemies of the state. I have noticed there are quite a few people in this world that seem to think, quite arrogantly,
that they are worth watching. They are the ‘foil beanie’ crowd, in my opinion.
Help is on the way for them however. A mysterious character who calls himself Mr. Bill in New York has started a rather obnoxious
trend that will have, I suspect, intended consequences. He has started something called ‘flash mobbing’. Do a
Google Search on it to see some of the rather amusing things they have come up with. There have been numerous gatherings such as these.
A few examples of their silliness are: A group of fifty people gathered in Dallas at a rather high brow theater under a blue
balloon and a red balloon. The group was split into two groups of twenty-five. They converged from numerous points unknown
and met at exactly the correct time and place under those balloons. One group shouted “Marco!” The other answered
“Polo!” This went on for a few minutes as the various onlookers watched in disbelief. Then as suddenly as it started
the balloons were released into the air and they all cheered, applauded and dispersed as quickly as they gathered. One onlooker
said she was nervous at first but concluded once she realized it was just silliness for the sake of silliness, she was amused.
I read one quote from some college age girl who was excited and stated, “At last there is a chance to be a activist
without having to be attached to some cause.” I have to ask a question here. What is the point? That really is one of
the most idiotic things I’ve ever read. It is a common sentiment with the groups doing this though. These are people
with zero critical thinking skills. This moronic trend has spread across the entire country and even to Europe. Those areas
are the areas which the Patriot Act is covering, by the way.
For the foil beanie crowd it
does bring some relief. Those who are worried about the Patriot Act should feel some sense of relief in all of this. They
should also be embarrassed for not having thought of it themselves. But living on a diet of whine and cheese does bring a
sort of mental constipation that limits any kind of action or thought.
How does this bring
relief to the foil beanie crowd? These people are communicating in the same manner that Al Qaeda does. They are using emails
with secret lists, hidden webpages and cell phones for coordination. The end result will be a gummed up monitoring system
for tracking and finding terrorists. It will be crippled by an endless onslaught of meaningless indicators ‘that something
is up’. It comes as no surprise to me that this all started where the headquarters of the American Communist Party is
situated (New York). One of these days these people will gather to pull off some goofy act and discover too late they were
used as a diversion for a terrorist act. They are so dense they might even find themselves committing the act without realizing
it until it’s too late.
There is another side to this and it has a certain signature
on it. What will be our Governments response to all of this? Do they crack down on this to stop it? Will they create an even
bigger database and system to handle the extra traffic? Those are but a few of the options left to handle this issue, and
any response to this issue will bring more division in the country. If they leave this alone and let it runs its course something
nasty will happen one day because they couldn’t/didn’t track it. The Governemnt will get blamed for being ineffectual
again. If they crack down, more of our rights are being taken from us bringing more anger at the Government. This is a classic
Sun Tsu win win move. I wonder how many people know what the KGB/FSU/GRU manual was/is. It was Sun Tzu’s “The
Art Of War”. Nice one Putin! As they say in the cyber world, “Byte me!”
